Volunteering
Volunteers play an important role in contributing to the success of student learning and wellbeing.
For more information on volunteering, visit what volunteers need to know on the department website.
Volunteer
The active participation of parents in the school is encouraged as an effective way of ensuring a home/school partnership.
Throughout the school, parents are invited to work with the teachers in a variety of activities. Some of these activities may be craft/art sessions, assistance with individual reading and writing, excursions, library and sports training. Special training may given to parents who wish to help individual children with reading and writing or library/resource centre techniques and skills.
All staff greatly appreciate input from parents with special skills or experiences. These parents are encouraged to present talks or workshops to our students.
Volunteer requirements
Parents wishing to volunteer must have a current Department for Human Services Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a copy must be provided to the school. You can get a free check for volunteering.
You must also complete the Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) course. You will need to create a plink account for non-department staff to complete the course online.
